This product is exactly what it claims to be. A new genuine apple adapter. After mine died, I was worried about generic brand adaptors, and didn't want to pay such a high price for an Apple store adaptor. This product was the perfect marriage between the 2. Then, not having to worry about the disposal with the little envelope enclose was the icing on the cake.

After considering the in-store product (more than double the price) this was an excellent option. I re-used the original cable - the thick one - and attached it to the adapter (which doesn't come with a cable) and plugged it in. Works perfectly! Its genuine Apple and seems perfectly new.
